Senior L2 Protocol Systems Engineer/Architect

Responsibilities:

Woven Systems is seeking a technical software lead for a full-time position. You must have experience in designing and developing new features and protocols for switching systems using best-in-class industry development practices. These include leading and working as part of a cross-functional team to develop requirements, functional and design specifications, and testing requirements. As a Woven L2 Protocol Engineer, you’ll take great ownership and pride employing your expertise of switching system architectures, data plane packet processing, and layer 2 switching protocols.

Qualifications:

B.S./M.S. CS/CE/EE with seven or more years of relevant technical leadership experience
Requires in depth working knowledge of distributed systems and stacking topologies.
Must have experience in the following Layer 2 and switch technology areas:

- L2 Forwarding, VLANs (802.1q), MAC Table, Static and 802.3ad LACP trunking
- L2 Protocols such as 802.1d STP, 802.1w RSTP, 802.1s MSTP, IGMP snooping and others
- ACLs and Policy Based VLANs
- 802.1x and network element security feature

You must have a good understanding of the product release cycle, and technology and product boundaries in order to phase in complex functionality based on market timing and customer needs.
Strong C/C++ programming skills
Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
Knowledge of IP multicasting protocols is a plus
