About Woven
Company
Woven Systems™ is an innovative network infrastructure provider focused on designing and building massively scalable Ethernet fabric switching solutions for Enterprise, and Internet data centers. Woven offers the only solutions that use Dynamic Congestion Avoidance to automatically balance traffic for delivering the industry’s highest performance and lowest latency — all conveniently packaged in an energy-efficient chassis.
Woven Solutions
Woven Ethernet Fabrics help IT administrators meet performance demands for a variety of data center networking environments including:
Woven Ethernet Switch Products
The Woven Systems EFX 1000 Ethernet Fabric Switch incorporates patented technology, implemented in Woven's vSCALE™ packet processing ASIC, that enables non-blocking multi-path interconnectivity using standard Ethernet protocols.
The Woven Systems TRX 100 Ethernet Switch is a compact, 48-port high-performance managed Ethernet solution designed for top-of-rack server aggregation in data centers. When connected as an edge switch to the Woven EFX 1000 Ethernet Fabric Switch, the TRX enables scaling and performance for servers connected with GE interfaces.
History
Woven Systems was founded in November 2003 by Dan Maltbie and Bert Tanaka. After years in the industry, Dan and Bert realized there was an opportunity to take advantage of next-generation 10 Gigabit Ethernet technology to finally deliver on the vision of an Ethernet fabric for the data center.
Their experience with high speed switching and traffic management led to a solution that overcomes Ethernet spanning tree limitations. Employing low latency cut-through switching technology, the pair developed switch platforms that can be interconnected to create Layer 2 Ethernet fabrics.
Privately held, Woven Systems has raised $35 million in two rounds of funding.
