Woven Systems Expands Worldwide Operations with Opening of New Software Development Center in Beijing

Ethernet Fabric Switching Leader Growing Software Development and Quality Assurance Testing Resources to Accelerate Innovation

Santa Clara, Calif. - March 3, 2008 -- Woven Systems™ Inc., the leading innovator of Ethernet Fabric switching solutions for data centers and high-performance computing clusters, today announced the opening of its new software development center in Beijing, China. This strategic extension of Woven Systems' software development team, headed by Lin Du, director of the Beijing Development Center (BDC), will add critical product development and quality assurance testing resources. The BDC will be instrumental in accelerating time-to-market schedules and ensuring optimal product reliability.

"We're tapping into an extraordinary pool of technical talent with the opening of our Beijing center," said Jeff Thermond, president and CEO of Woven Systems. "Our proximity to some of the best technical universities in all of China will be a significant recruiting advantage. And this is important because of surging worldwide interest in Ethernet Fabric switching solutions. We anticipate a significant expansion of our software development and quality testing resources in the first half of this year with the addition of the Beijing Development Center."

The new BDC will provide Woven Systems with the added benefit of a strategic, 24 x 7 customer support presence in Asia.

Woven Systems' expansion coincides with a recent $20 million Series B funding round and commercial availability of its flagship 10 Gigabit Ethernet Fabric Switch, the EFX 1000. The company is also riding a wave of industry recognition as the winner of the prestigious Editors' Choice Award for "Most Important HPC Networking Product or Technology" by HPCwire, one of the leading publications covering the High Productivity Computing (HPC) market.

Woven Systems has developed the industry's first standards-compliant Ethernet Fabric solution that unifies and simplifies data center networking. Woven's EFX 1000 Ethernet Fabric Switches, with vSCALE™ packet processing technology, can be connected in multi-path meshed topologies to create massively scalable Ethernet fabrics that support the most demanding business-critical applications.

The Beijing Development Center is located at 406, Building B, Beijing International Mansion, 18 South Zhong Guang Cun Avenue, Haidian, Beijing 100081, China.
